Modeling Bodies

How can we achieve a perfect comprehension of the human body, across scales?

Why it matters now

The human body is an engineering miracle - the fruit of millions of years of evolution and hundred thousands iterations. We're only starting to have a good comprehension of how proteins behave - multiple order of magnitude under organs and the full body.

Mental Models

  • Scales across the human body, from dna to organs and full body systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous)
  • Threshold effects, non-linear dynamics, feedback loops

Examples

  • Tissue foundries
  • Biomarkers
  • Physical modeling?
